Washington Baseball Leagues

Every adult baseball league we track in Washington: what each one actually is, where it plays, and who to talk to. Written from the leagues’ own words where they still keep words somewhere, and honestly labelled where they do not.

Playing baseball in Washington

  • Spokane
  • Est. 1994
  • 18+, 30+, 45+, and 60+
  • MSBL/MABL

Inland Northwest MABL/MSBL has run since 1994 out of Spokane, on a domain that says the important thing before you read anything else: playhardball.org.

The Inland Northwest is the region east of the Cascades, taking in eastern Washington, northern Idaho and a piece of Montana, and it has almost nothing in common with the Seattle side of the state. Spokane is dry, cold in winter, hot in summer, and three hundred miles from the coast.

Thirty-two years. We could not extract the divisions or the fee. This is one of five Washington listings and the only one east of the mountains.

  • Seattle
  • Est. 1988
  • 18+, 30+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 60+, and 65+
  • MSBL/MABL

Seattle MSBL runs as the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League and has done since 1988, making it one of the earliest MSBL affiliates in the country. Its site renders a title and very little else that reaches us as text.

Baseball in the Puget Sound region is a negotiation with rain rather than with cold. The winters are mild enough to play through in theory and wet enough that nobody does, and a Seattle season is built around the reliable dry stretch from roughly July to September rather than around temperature.

Thirty-eight years of working that out. Washington carries five listings in our records, spread from Spokane across to Vancouver on the Columbia. Send us the divisions and we will print them.

  • Vancouver
  • 19 teams
  • Independent

The Southwest Washington Adult Baseball League is based in Vancouver, which is across the Columbia from Portland and shares nothing with the Vancouver in British Columbia except a name and a great deal of confusion.

A southwest Washington league exists because the state line is also a tax line and a bridge, and the daily crossing between Vancouver and Portland is one of the more reliably miserable commutes in the northwest. Playing on your own side of the river is worth something.

We could not read the divisions or season. Note for clarity: our Lower Mainland Baseball Association record is the actual Vancouver, British Columbia.

  • Olympia
  • Est. 2025
  • 6 teams
  • 18+
  • MSBL/MABL

Thurston County ABL was founded in 2025 out of Olympia, the state capital.

Olympia sits at the southern tip of Puget Sound, sixty miles from Seattle, in a county of three hundred thousand that has never had its own adult baseball listing in our records before this one. A new league there is filling a genuine gap rather than competing with anything.

One year old. Note that we also carry a Tri-Cities Adult Baseball League in Washington whose abbreviation is also TCABL, and the two are entirely separate leagues at opposite ends of the state.

  • Kennewick
  • NABA

The Tri-Cities Adult Baseball League runs out of Kennewick on LeagueApps. The Tri-Cities are Kennewick, Pasco and Richland, where the Snake and Yakima rivers meet the Columbia in the dry southeast corner of the state.

Richland exists because of the Manhattan Project. The Hanford site next door produced the plutonium for the Nagasaki bomb, and the town was built from nothing to house the workers. Its high school teams are still called the Bombers and their logo is still a mushroom cloud, which is a fact people either already know or find difficult to believe.

Note that our Thurston County ABL in Olympia shares this league's initials, and a separate Tri-Cities league exists in Tennessee. We could not read the divisions.

Before you ask

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Washington?

High Cheese currently tracks 5 active adult leagues in Washington, carrying 25 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Washington?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Washington search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Washington?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Washington towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in Kennewick, Olympia, Seattle, Spokane, and Vancouver. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
