  • Providence

  • Roy Hobbs Baseball

The RIMA Senior Baseball League is our second Rhode Island record on the Leageez platform, and RIMA most likely stands for Rhode Island and Massachusetts, a league spanning the state line.

That would make sense of the geography. Providence is forty-five minutes from Boston, and the border between the two states runs close enough to the city that a league confined to Rhode Island would be turning away players who live twenty minutes away.

We could not read the specifics. Both Rhode Island entries sit on a platform we have seen nowhere else, which suggests one administrator serving both.

  • East Providence
  • Est. 1989
  • 17 teams
  • 30+, 40+, and 50+
  • MSBL/MABL

Rhode Island MSBL has run since 1989 on a platform called Leageez, which appears nowhere else in this directory except on our other Rhode Island record.

Two leagues, one obscure platform, one very small state. Rhode Island is thirty-seven miles across at its widest, so a statewide league there involves less driving than a single Los Angeles fixture.

Thirty-seven years. We could not extract the divisions or the fee. Our RIMA Senior Baseball League record sits on the same platform.

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Rhode Island?

High Cheese currently tracks 2 active adult leagues in Rhode Island, carrying 22 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Rhode Island?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Rhode Island search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Rhode Island?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Rhode Island towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in East Providence and Providence. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
