Tennessee Baseball Leagues

Every adult baseball league we track in Tennessee: what each one actually is, where it plays, and who to talk to. Written from the leagues’ own words where they still keep words somewhere, and honestly labelled where they do not.

Playing baseball in Tennessee

  • Chattanooga
  • Est. 2025
  • 18+
  • MSBL/MABL

Chattanooga MABL was founded in 2025 and its domain is 423-baseball.com, the 423 being the area code for east Tennessee.

That is the second league in this directory to name itself after a telephone prefix, alongside Baseball 757 in Hampton Roads. It is a naming convention that only works locally, which is precisely the point: nobody outside east Tennessee needs to know, and everybody inside it does immediately.

One year old. Chattanooga sits in a bend of the river under Lookout Mountain, a city that spent the 1960s as one of the most polluted in America and the last thirty years becoming somewhere people move to. A new adult league there is starting in a growing town rather than a shrinking one.

  • Germantown
  • Independent

The Germantown Baseball League runs out of Germantown, an affluent suburb east of Memphis, on a .org domain of its own.

Suburban leagues with their own domain and their own name are a distinct category from the metro-wide affiliates. They tend to be older, they tend to own their relationship with the local parks department, and they tend to have a waiting list rather than a recruitment problem.

We could not extract usable detail from the site. This is the third of our three Memphis-area listings and the only one whose address still works, which given the state of the other two makes it the one to try.

  • Knoxville
  • Other

Knoxville Adult Baseball carries the same eSportsDesk league-picker URL as our Middle Tennessee record, with the same client identifier and the same leagueid of zero.

One URL, two leagues, three hundred miles apart. Whoever gathered these took a platform's front door and filed it under both, and neither entry points anywhere useful as a result.

Knoxville is a Tennessee Valley city with a large university and a serious baseball following. It has a real adult league and we are currently linking to a dropdown menu. Send us the address and we will replace this.

  • Memphis
  • Est. 1996
  • 40+ and 55+
  • MSBL/MABL

Memphis MSBL has run since 1996 and has no website in our records. We separately carry a Mid South Adult Baseball League, also Memphis, whose Pointstreak address was memphismsbl.pointstreaksites.com and now forwards to Stack Sports.

So Memphis has two records, one with no address and one whose address died in the platform acquisition, and the dead one's URL contains the other one's name. These are almost certainly the same league, recorded under both its formal MSBL title and a regional name.

That makes seven leagues in this directory whose front door disappeared when Pointstreak was retired. Memphis is a city with a deep sporting culture and a professional baseball history going back to the Chickasaws in the 1880s. Send us one working link and we will fix both records.

  • Memphis
  • Other

The Mid South Adult Baseball League's address was a Pointstreak site under the account memphismsbl, which now forwards to a software vendor's homepage.

The account name is the tell. Whoever registered it called the league Memphis MSBL, and our records hold a separate Memphis MSBL entry dating to 1996 with no website at all. Two names, one operation, and the only evidence linking them is a dead URL.

Mid South is how that corner of Tennessee describes itself, taking in west Tennessee, north Mississippi and east Arkansas, which is a wider catchment than Memphis alone and may be exactly why the second name exists.

  • Nashville
  • Other

The Middle Tennessee Adult Baseball Association is listed at an eSportsDesk address with a leagueid of zero, which means the link does not point at this league at all. It points at a league picker, a page asking which of a client's leagues you want.

Our Knoxville Adult Baseball record carries the identical URL. Same clientid, same zero. Two Tennessee leagues, one meaningless link, which tells us both were added from the same source by somebody who copied a landing page rather than a league.

That is our error rather than theirs. Nashville is the largest city in the state and deserves a real entry. Send us the actual address.

  • Johnson City
  • 5 teams
  • Other

The Tri-Cities Adult Baseball League runs out of Johnson City on a Facebook group, closed to us.

The Tri-Cities are Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol, three towns in the far northeast corner of Tennessee that function as one metropolitan area without any of them agreeing to be the centre of it. Bristol famously has a state line running down the middle of its main street.

Note for anyone browsing: we carry a second Tri-Cities Adult Baseball League in Washington state, around Kennewick, and the two are entirely unrelated. Both regions call themselves the Tri-Cities and neither is going to stop.

Before you ask

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Tennessee?

High Cheese currently tracks 7 active adult leagues in Tennessee, carrying 5 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Tennessee?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Tennessee search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Tennessee?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Tennessee towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in Chattanooga, Germantown, Johnson City, Knoxville, Memphis, and Nashville. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
