Idaho Baseball Leagues

Every adult baseball league we track in Idaho: what each one actually is, where it plays, and who to talk to. Written from the leagues’ own words where they still keep words somewhere, and honestly labelled where they do not.

Playing baseball in Idaho

  • Boise
  • 22 teams
  • 18+ and 33+
  • MSBL/MABL

Boise MSBL carries twenty-two teams. Its site, boisemensbaseball.com, resolves to a HomeTeamsOnline error page: not a 403, not a missing page, but the platform's own message saying a connection failed while trying to reach the requested page.

Twenty-two teams is a substantial league for a metro of Boise's size, and it has grown alongside a city that has been one of the fastest-expanding in the country for a decade. A great many of those players did not grow up in Idaho.

The error is on the host's side rather than the league's, and it may well have cleared by the time you read this. We hold a second Boise listing, Boise NABA, whose address points at the same hosting platform under a different account name.

  • Boise
  • NABA

Boise NABA is listed on the same hosting platform as Boise MSBL, and the account identifier embedded in its address is BOISEMSBL, which is the other league's name.

That is either a shared administrator running two affiliations from one account, or one league that changed sanctioning bodies and kept the old login, or a record in our directory that has attached the wrong URL to the wrong name. All three happen, and the address alone cannot tell them apart.

Both Boise entries currently reach the platform's connection error rather than a league page. If you play in Boise, one message would sort out which of these is real, whether both are, and which sanctioning body is actually running your Sunday.

  • Pocatello
  • Other

The South East Idaho Adult Baseball League runs out of Pocatello and lives on Facebook, behind the login prompt that stops every directory.

Pocatello is a long way from anywhere. Boise is a four-hour drive west, Salt Lake City three hours south, and in between is a great deal of country with not many people in it. A league in southeast Idaho is not competing with alternatives; it is either the only organised adult baseball within reach or it does not happen.

That makes its findability matter more than most, not less. A page a search engine cannot index is a problem when the nearest substitute is in another state. Organisers: send us anything and we will carry it.

Before you ask

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Idaho?

High Cheese currently tracks 3 active adult leagues in Idaho, carrying 22 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Idaho?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Idaho search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Idaho?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Idaho towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in Boise and Pocatello. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
