Nebraska Baseball Leagues

Every adult baseball league we track in Nebraska: what each one actually is, where it plays, and who to talk to. Written from the leagues’ own words where they still keep words somewhere, and honestly labelled where they do not.

  • Lincoln

The Lincoln Adult Baseball League keeps its presence on a Facebook page named lincolnhardball, and the account name is the best summary of the league available to us: hardball, not softball, in Lincoln.

That distinction still needs making. Adult softball vastly outnumbers adult baseball in most American cities, and a great many men assume the choice at thirty-five is between softball and nothing. A league whose handle is the word hardball has decided to settle that question in its address bar.

We cannot read past the login. Nebraska has three listings in our records, two in Omaha and this one. Send us the season and the fields.

  • Omaha
  • 11 teams

The Omaha Adult Baseball League calls itself Nebraska's premier wood-bat adult baseball league, is open to anyone eighteen and older, and sums itself up in three words: Simple. Honest. Baseball.

That tagline is doing more work than it appears to. Omaha hosts the College World Series every June, and for two weeks the city is the centre of amateur baseball in America, with television and crowds and eighteen-year-olds playing the biggest games of their lives. A local adult league operating in that shadow could reasonably reach for grandeur. Instead it promises the opposite: nothing complicated, nothing oversold, just the game.

The homepage is an entry point rather than a handbook, so the fields, the fee and the season sit further in. We hold a second Omaha listing, an MSBL affiliate founded in 2025.

  • MSBL/MABL

Omaha MSBL was founded in 2025 on a SportsEngine site, which is a sensible choice for a brand new league and an impenetrable one for a directory: the platform refuses non-browser requests as a matter of policy.

A new MSBL affiliate in a city that already has an established wood-bat league suggests either a different age bracket or a different philosophy about metal. MSBL affiliation also brings the national tournament structure, which a purely local league cannot offer, and for some players that is the entire reason to choose one over the other.

One year old, on solid hosting, in a genuine baseball city. Send us the divisions and the fee and this listing will say what distinguishes you.

Before you ask

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Nebraska?

High Cheese currently tracks 3 active adult leagues in Nebraska, carrying 28 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Nebraska?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Nebraska search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Nebraska?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Nebraska towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in Lincoln and Omaha. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
