Gallatin Valley Men's Baseball runs out of Bozeman on a site that returns a 403 to anything that is not a browser.

Bozeman has been one of the fastest-growing small cities in America for a decade, its population swollen by people who moved for the mountains and then discovered that Montana winters do not care why you came. An adult baseball league there is working with a compressed season and a population that arrived from somewhere else, which describes the Flathead league four hours northwest as well.

Two Montana listings in our records, this and Northwest Montana MABL over in Whitefish. Between them they cover the western third of a state that is bigger than Germany. Send us the divisions and the season.

The Flathead Adult Men's Baseball League was founded in 2025 and runs four teams at 18+: GTOD, the Cannon Ballers, Brewers and Rockies, playing at Memorial Field in Whitefish, with players drawn from the Flathead Valley, Eureka and as far as Missoula. Around fifty-two players in 2026. A 30+ weeknight division is planned for 2027.

The league's own summary of what it offers is the best one-line description of adult baseball in this directory: wood bats, two umpires, and nine innings all summer. Not seven innings, not a time limit, not a shortened schedule. Nine, every time.

The economics are published openly, and they are the clearest we have seen: drop-in games cost $35, and umpires are paid $100 a game. Two umpires per game against thirty-five dollars a player tells you exactly how many players have to turn up before the arithmetic works. League members get twenty percent off Rawlings and Easton gear at a local shop. Nathan Dugan is commissioner at (208) 784-3290.

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Montana?

High Cheese currently tracks 2 active adult leagues in Montana, carrying 9 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Montana?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Montana search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Montana?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Montana towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in Bozeman and Whitefish. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
