Adult Baseball By State

Texas Baseball Leagues

Every adult baseball league we track in Texas: what each one actually is, where it plays, and who to talk to. Written from the leagues’ own words where they still keep words somewhere, and honestly labelled where they do not.

Playing baseball in Texas

  • San Antonio
  • Est. 1992
  • 19 teams
  • 18+ and 28+
  • MSBL/MABL

Alamo MSBL has run since 1992 and sits on recleague.net, a hosting platform we have not encountered anywhere else in this directory.

That is worth a note on its own. Almost every hosted league in these records sits on one of four or five platforms, and each of those has its own failure mode: LeagueLineup framesets, HomeTeamsOnline 403s, Pointstreak addresses that died in an acquisition. A league on an uncommon platform is either better served or more exposed, and there is no way to know which until something breaks.

Thirty-four years in San Antonio, one of three listings we hold for the city. Send us the divisions and the fee and we will replace this observation about web hosting with something about baseball.

  • Austin
  • Other

The Austin Baseball League runs on a hosted teams page that refuses non-browser requests, and it is the second Austin listing in our records alongside the MSBL affiliate founded in 1989.

Austin's growth has been extreme enough that two adult baseball leagues in one metro is not remotely surprising; what would be surprising is if they overlapped much. A city that adds a hundred thousand people in a few years produces enough demand for parallel operations that never have to compete.

Send us the divisions, the fields and the season and we will carry them properly.

  • Austin
  • Est. 1989
  • 26 teams
  • 18+, 28+, 38+, 48+, and 58+
  • MSBL/MABL

Austin MSBL dates to 1989 and its site returns a 403 to anything that is not a browser.

Austin has roughly tripled in population since this league was founded, and almost nobody who arrived in that time grew up there. A thirty-seven-year-old adult baseball league in a city that has been remade twice over is one of the few places where somebody who moved in 1992 and somebody who moved last year end up on the same roster.

We hold two Austin listings, this and the Austin Baseball League. Texas heat also shapes the season in a way northern leagues never think about: the problem there is not a short summer but a summer too long and far too hot in the middle of it.

  • Waco
  • Independent

The Central Texas Baseball League runs out of Waco on a hosted page that returns a 403.

Waco sits almost exactly halfway between Dallas and Austin on I-35, which is the defining fact about the place: it is ninety miles from two of the largest adult baseball markets in the state and belongs to neither. A central Texas league is serving the towns along that corridor that would otherwise have a two-hour round trip to play.

Baylor's programme is in town, which means fields and a steady supply of players who have finished college ball. We could not read the divisions or the season.

  • Dallas
  • NABA

The DFW Adult Baseball Association runs seven age divisions: 18+, 25+, 35+, 40+, 50+, 55+, 60+, with age determined as of December 31. Most play out of the Parks at Texas Star in Euless, on Legends Field.

The scheduling detail is the useful one. Each age group has a designated primary day, with 18+, 25+ and 60+ on Sundays, which means a man knows which day of his week baseball will occupy before he signs anything. The 55+ and 60+ divisions play spring only and sit out the autumn.

Metal spikes are prohibited outright. Rubber cleats, turf shoes or tennis shoes only, which is a groundskeeping rule dressed as an equipment rule and one that tells you the fields are shared and somebody wants them intact in November. Tryouts cost fifteen dollars. JD Magee handles new teams at [email protected].

  • Dallas
  • Est. 1988
  • 18+, 30+, 45+, and 55+
  • MSBL/MABL

Dallas MABL/MSBL dates to 1988 and its domain now forwards to ntabl.leagueapps.com, which is the address our North Texas Amateur Baseball League record also points at.

So these two entries resolve to the same place. Either the Dallas league rebranded as North Texas, or the two merged, or one absorbed the other's domain. A 301 redirect is a permanent one, which means whoever set it intended the Dallas name to retire.

That is worth knowing before signing up, because a 1988 founding date attached to a name nobody uses any more will send a player looking for something that no longer answers to it. This is the tenth duplicate pair in this directory and one of the few where the redirect tells us which way it went.

  • Fort Worth
  • Est. 1988
  • 15 teams
  • 25+ and 35+
  • MSBL/MABL

Fort Worth MSBL has been running since 1988 with 25+ and 35+ divisions. The site is live and most of its content sits behind navigation we could not follow, so the fields, fee and season are not readable from here.

Fort Worth insists on being distinct from Dallas thirty miles east, and its baseball follows suit: we hold separate listings for Fort Worth, Dallas, Denton and the DFW-wide association, four operations covering one metroplex. Anywhere else that would look like duplication. In north Texas it looks like geography and civic pride doing what they always do.

Thirty-eight years, which puts this among the first wave of MSBL affiliates after the national body formed on Long Island in 1986. There is a free agent form for players without a team.

  • Houston
  • 41 teams
  • Independent

The Houston Baseball Association is live and returns a 403 to us.

It sits alongside the Houston Hardball League, running since 1988 with four divisions and published fees, which makes Houston one of the better-documented cities in this directory despite this entry. Association rather than league again raises the umbrella question that Orlando, Atlanta and Toledo also raised and none of them answered.

Houston is the fourth largest city in America and plays baseball through a summer that would stop most leagues dead. The Hardball League's answer is to run its main season in the autumn. Whether this one does the same, we cannot say.

  • Houston
  • Est. 1990
  • 18+, 27+, 35+, and 55+
  • MSBL/MABL

The Houston Hardball League was founded in 1988 and runs four divisions for the autumn: an Open Sunday at 18+, a Weeknight at 25+, a 35+ Sunday and a 55+ Sunday. All wood bat, all divisions, no exceptions.

It publishes its numbers with unusual clarity. Fall 2026 costs $315 a player for the Sunday divisions and $340 for the weeknight one, the extra twenty-five dollars being what lights and midweek field rental actually cost. The Open, 35+ and 55+ start August 9; the weeknight division picks up the week of August 31.

Umpires come through TASO, the state officials' association, which means certified rather than whoever was available. Games are livestreamed on GameChanger, there is a Texas Cup Classic tournament, and champions get rings. The Houston Stealth took spring 2026. Grounds include Gene Campbell Park, Meyer Park, Anderson Park, and the high school fields at Klein Forest and Morton Ranch. 832.992.7246.

  • Midland
  • Est. 2026
  • 18+
  • MSBL/MABL

Midland MABL was founded in 2026 and has no website, making it one of two brand new leagues in this directory alongside North Dakota MSBL.

Midland sits in the Permian Basin, where the economy rises and falls with the oil price and the population moves accordingly. Founding a baseball league there is a bet on enough people staying put for a season, which in west Texas is a genuine bet rather than a formality.

Midland is also where George W. Bush grew up playing Little League, and its high school football culture is famous enough to have produced a book and a film. Adult baseball there is starting from nothing this year. If you are in the basin and can play, they need you more than any established league does.

  • Denton
  • MSBL/MABL

The North Texas Amateur Baseball League runs on LeagueApps out of Denton, and it is where the Dallas MABL/MSBL domain now permanently redirects.

That redirect is the most useful piece of evidence in either record. Dallas MABL was founded in 1988; if this league is its continuation, then the thirty-eight years of history belong here under a new name, and the Denton base represents a shift north from the city proper.

Denton is a college town, North Texas and Texas Woman's between them, forty miles up I-35 from downtown Dallas. Whether the move was deliberate or just where the current organiser lives, we cannot say. Somebody in the Metroplex could tell us in a sentence.

  • San Antonio
  • MSBL/MABL

SATX Men's Baseball League keeps its presence on Facebook. SATX is how San Antonio abbreviates itself, in the manner of a city that got tired of typing the whole thing.

This is the third San Antonio listing in our records after Alamo MSBL and San Antonio MSBL, and the newest-looking of the three. A Facebook-first league in a city that already has two established MSBL affiliates is usually one of two things: a younger crowd who never considered building a website, or a group that split off from something and started fresh.

We cannot read the page and will not guess which. San Antonio's adult baseball needs one person willing to explain how its three leagues relate.

  • San Antonio
  • MSBL/MABL

San Antonio MSBL is at samsbl.com with a trailing slash and an f, which is the sort of URL fragment that survives from an older site structure and is now simply where the league lives.

San Antonio carries three listings in our records: this, Alamo MSBL dating to 1992, and a SATX league on Facebook. Three entries for one city, at least two of which are MSBL affiliates, and the likelihood that some of them are the same operation under different names is high.

We could not extract usable detail. The three San Antonio records between them yield no divisions, no fee and no season, which for the seventh largest city in the country is a poor showing.

Before you ask

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Texas?

High Cheese currently tracks 13 active adult leagues in Texas, carrying 101 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Texas?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Texas search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Texas?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Texas towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in Austin, Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth, Houston, Midland, San Antonio, and Waco. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
