The Central Arkansas Men's Senior Baseball League has been going since 1989 and runs nine teams: White Sox, Indians, Grays, Pirates, Cardinals, Expos, Red Sox, Yankees, Cubs. Eight of those are borrowed from the majors, one from a franchise that folded in 2004, and one, the Grays, from the Negro Leagues. Whether that last choice was deliberate or somebody just liked the name, it is the best one on the list.

Games are played around Benton and Bryant, at Bernard Holland Park, out at Sylvan Hills, and on the two Bishop diamonds, with the 2026 schedule filling July and August. The league's motto, printed without irony, is "Don't Go Soft, Play Hardball!" There is a player pool form for anyone arriving without a team and a waiver for everyone, which between them describe the entire administrative life of amateur baseball.

Thirty-seven years is long enough that somebody currently playing was not born when this league started, and somebody else has been in it the whole time. Both of them are on a roster this summer, probably batting near each other.

  • MSBL/MABL

Conway MSBL was founded in 2024, which makes it the newest thing in Arkansas adult baseball and the least documented. It has no website on file, which is not a criticism at two years old. Websites are what a league builds once it is sure it will exist next spring.

So there is nothing here about divisions, fees or a schedule, because there is nothing published to read. What can be said is that in 2024 somebody in Conway decided the nearest league was too far away and went about fixing that, which is how every league on this site started, including the ones that now have thirty-nine teams and a domain name.

If you are near Conway and looking, this is the one worth a phone call rather than a form. New leagues need players more than established ones do, and they remember the people who showed up first.

Common questions

  • How many adult baseball leagues are there in Arkansas?

High Cheese currently tracks 2 active adult leagues in Arkansas, carrying 9 teams between them. That is what we can stand behind today, not a claim that nothing else exists. Leagues form in somebody's driveway every spring and tell no one for two years.

  • How do I join a league in Arkansas?

Make a profile and turn the free agent switch on. That is the whole ask. Managers across Arkansas search this pool the week their shortstop discovers a work trip every Saturday through August, and they find whoever put themselves in it. You list what you throw, where you play, how far you will drive. The invitation comes to you. The other route is emailing an address nobody has opened since the last board handover, then waiting.

  • When does the season run in Arkansas?

Season lengths differ by league and are listed with each one below where the league states them. Broadly, amateur baseball is a late-spring-to-early-autumn arrangement, compressed at the northern end of the map into whatever window the weather grudgingly concedes.

  • Which Arkansas towns have leagues?

Leagues on this page are based in Conway and Little Rock. Most draw players from well outside their listed town, so a drive is normal and nobody will think less of you for it.
