Two feeds and an answering machine
The league keeps no news page. What it publishes goes to Facebook and Instagram, and anything urgent -- a cancellation, a field change -- goes onto the recorded information hotline, which is the one channel a player can check from a car park.
The website itself carries a single standing announcement, which is that registration is open for the fall.
A cancellation belongs in the schedule a player already has, not on a recording he has to remember to call. A High Cheese league page pushes it to every phone attached to the game.
Okaloosa Men's Baseball League in detail
- Twenty-five years of local baseball around Niceville, Eglin AFB and Fort Walton Beach, drafted for parity every season.
- The spring 2026 schedule is a printable PDF; fall is six games from the weekend of 30 August.
- Five tiebreakers, ending in a coin toss, and no table published.
- Forfeits are scored 9-0, double forfeits 0-0, and no real result is published.
- Rosters close on opening day, and a short team may borrow opponents into the outfield corners.
- The rules count games played and outs pitched; none of the counting is published.
- A support address, a recorded hotline that nobody listens to, and two social accounts.
- $175 over thirty, $150 under, paid in cash or check at a workout on a Sunday afternoon in Niceville.
- Games are played around Okaloosa County; one diamond is named, and directions live in a link.
- MLB's shift and pitch clock rules adopted with a straight face, and a pitch-count obligation on the older arms.
- No gallery is published on the league's own site.
- Sponsors may go on the jerseys, which belong to the league rather than the players.
- Every season ends in a single-elimination bracket with a championship game that plays until somebody wins.
- Founded on bylaws dated 26 February 2002, and marking its twenty-fifth year in 2026.
- A president, secretary, treasurer and a board of at least four, elected from among themselves.
- Everyone plays three events a game, ties are allowed, and nothing starts after ten at night.
- Bylaws created in 2002 and revised in 2024, a registration form, a manager evaluation form, and arm-strengthening exercises.
- Two seasons, two registration Sundays, and games that never start a new inning after ten at night.
- Nothing is for sale; jerseys and hats come with the fee.
- Uniformed umpires at every game, paid out of the registration fee.
