The answers a parity league has to give
Will I actually play? Yes, and it is a rule: every player present at the start must get three events, an event being an at bat or an inning in the field, with at least one of each. Arrive late or leave injured and the requirement lapses.
Can a game end level? In the regular season, yes -- ties are recorded as ties. A shootout may be invoked, but no new shootout inning may start once the time limit is reached, and none at all after ten at night. In the tournament there are no ties: shootout play continues until somebody wins, and the championship game has no time limit on it whatsoever.
What is a shootout here? The last two legal batters from the previous inning start on first and second, the last batter on first, and every hitter arrives at the plate with a 2-1 count. Three outs each, repeat until it breaks.
When does mercy apply? A ten-run gap ends a nine-inning regular season game after seven innings, but only once two hours and forty-five minutes have gone -- the league is explicit that ten runs will not end a nine-inning game early. Seven-inning games are exempt. The championship game is exempt from everything.
That is a league with a clear answer for every situation on the field and none for where its next game is. A High Cheese league page carries the rules and the fixture list at one address, so the two arrive together.
