Okaloosa Men's Baseball League Championship Tournament

Every season ends in a single-elimination bracket with a championship game that plays until somebody wins.

The championship game answers to nothing

Both seasons end in a single-elimination championship tournament seeded from the final standings. Tournament games are nine innings on a three-hour limit whatever night they fall on, and reaching that limit sends them into shootout play rather than ending them -- unless one side is ten or more ahead, in which case it is over.

The championship game is exempt from all of it. No ten-run rule, no time limit once shootout play begins, and play continues until a champion is declared. If weather stops it mid-shootout, it resumes from the exact point, count and all, on another day.

Eligibility is guarded: three regular season appearances to pitch in the tournament, one to play anywhere else, with an injury exemption available by letter to the league president.

Not one champion from twenty-five years is named on the league's site. A title recorded on a High Cheese league page keeps the bracket, the final and the winning roster attached to the season, which is how a twenty-fifth year ends up with twenty-five champions rather than one anniversary line.
