Written to the managers, not the public
The league's current notice reads like a message to the people who did the work: thanks to all the teams playing this season, and for getting everyone organised in time to start on time, this should be a very efficient season barring no major rainouts again, we hope to wrap up prior to the holidays — good luck and stay healthy.
Two things in one paragraph: an admission that last season was hit by rain, and a target of finishing before the holidays. That is a league talking honestly to its own members. A league on High Cheese gets a wire on its own page where finals post themselves and a rainout reaches every player, so an efficient season is a schedule rather than a hope.
