Cash, before the game
Umpire fees sit outside the team fee entirely: $100 per game per team, paid on the field before each game. That is $200 a fixture, collected at the ground, every Sunday of a twelve or thirteen game season.
Publishing the rate and the payment moment is honest, and it is also the single largest recurring cost a manager carries — roughly $1,300 across a season on top of the $910 entry. No assignor or crew is named. On High Cheese the crew attaches to the fixture and the cost sits with the game, so a manager can see what a season actually costs before he registers.
