Five of five, with the arithmetic shown
Who can play: 18 and over, sorted into four divisions by ability. When: two seasons a year, spring registration late January to late February, play from mid-April, twelve to thirteen Sunday games. Where: rotating fields from the Valley to East LA, Griffith Park to South Central. What it costs: $910 a team including baseballs, awards and a refundable $400 bond, plus $100 per team per game for umpires. How to join: register a team on the form, or get on the free agent list by phone or email.
Publishing the umpire fee separately, so a manager can add it up himself, is more honest than any single-figure price in this directory. A claimed league on High Cheese answers all five beside a live schedule and standings, so the arithmetic sits next to the games it pays for.
