Kept properly, filed as documents
Scores are published together with the schedules and standings for each division and season, and the city supplies its own blank baseball scorecard for clubs to keep the book on.
Handing every team the same scorecard is how a municipal league gets consistent results from forty volunteer scorers — and then the results go into a file per division rather than into a record anybody can search. On High Cheese a final entered once becomes the box score, the standings line and the season record together, so the scorecard the city already prescribes feeds a live table.
