Three columns, because the table and the playoffs are different things
The champions page publishes a row per year with three winners in it: the playoff champion, the runner-up, and the regular season winner. In 2020 the Kingston Night Owls beat Peabody Champions Pub while the Northeast Tides took the regular season. In 2018 Peabody won the table and lost the final to Kingston. In 2016 Beverly Recs took the title while Swampscott Sox topped the standings.
Recording all three, year after year, is how a league keeps its history honest — it shows how often the best side over 24 games did not win in August. The Night Owls appear as champions in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Every season played on High Cheese keeps itself as standings, box scores and rosters together with both the table winner and the champion attached to the year.
