North Shore Baseball League

North Shore Baseball League Fields

A Fields and Directions page, and a grandstand named for a hall of famer.

Including one named after a man in its own hall of fame

The league keeps a Fields and Directions page under Resources. Its Hall of Fame supplies one venue by name and by reason: the historic Seaside Park Grandstand in Marblehead, named in honour of a former Marblehead player and general manager whose work between 1977 and 1994 the league credits with rejuvenating semi-pro baseball in the town.

A grandstand named after somebody in your own hall of fame is the kind of thing only a league with roots in the nineteenth century has. Twelve clubs spread from Lynn to Kingston is a fifty-mile league, so directions matter. High Cheese ties the ballpark, the address and the map to the fixture itself, so a club travelling into New Hampshire knows what it is driving to.
