Filed with the archive, not the front page
The league keeps League News and Social Media as items under Resources, alongside the champions, the awards and the Hall of Fame — its front page leads with standings, statistics, schedule and results instead.
Putting the table ahead of the noticeboard is the right priority for a competitive league, and it means the news lives where the history does. A league on High Cheese gets a wire where finals post themselves as the books are finalized, so a 24-game season generates its own coverage and the archive pages stay for the things worth writing.
North Shore Baseball League in detail
- Twelve teams from Lynn to Kingston, New Hampshire, in a league older than most of baseball.
- A schedule and results page for each of the ten clubs, plus a league-wide view.
- Standings given top billing, first item in the navigation and first button on the page.
- Results kept per club, feeding nine statistics pages and three champion columns.
- Recs, Night Owls, Seasiders, A's, Phillies, Storm, Tides, Champions, Nor'Easter and Sox.
- Nine statistics pages — batting, pitching, fielding, leaders, all players, and rookies.
- A prospect form, a payment portal, and a login called 400 Hitter.
- A Prospect Form for players, and a Find A Player page for managers.
- A Fields and Directions page, and a grandstand named for a hall of famer.
- By Laws and a Player Conduct policy, shaped over decades by its own executives.
- Full biographies, not name lists — and the careers in them are extraordinary.
- No sponsors page — but the champions list has been carrying a pub's name for years.
- MVP, Cy Young, Batting Champion, Rookie of the Year, Playoff MVP and a fourteen-man All League Team.
- Champion, runner-up and regular season winner, listed together for every year.
- A board page, and a Hall of Fame that names four commissioners across fifty years.
- Standard, size, season and geography all answered in one paragraph.
- By Laws, a Player Conduct policy, and a set of Covid rules kept on the record.
- Twenty-four games from late May, with playoffs in August.
- Nothing is for sale.
- Named twice in the Hall of Fame, and nowhere else.
