The first thing the league shows you
Standings sit at the head of the league's main menu, ahead of the schedule, the statistics and the teams, and the front page repeats them as its first button alongside Schedule.
Leading with the table rather than with a welcome message is the mark of a competitive league — in a 24-game season with a separate playoff champion, the standings are the argument. The champions page proves how much they matter: three times in five recent years the regular season winner did not win the title. Standings on High Cheese come out of the games themselves as scores are entered, so the table that decides seeding updates from the act of recording a result.
