Its leadership is written into its own hall of fame
The league keeps an NSBL Board Members page under Resources. Its Hall of Fame supplies the deeper picture: a commissioner in post since 2001 who is also a founding player-manager, another who held the commissioner's or vice-commissioner's title across twenty-five years, a five-year commissioner from the 1980s who went on to become a district attorney, and a long-serving treasurer and executive board member credited with shaping the league rules as they exist today.
Four named commissioners across five decades, each honoured for the administration as much as the playing, is continuity almost nothing here can show. High Cheese hands those roles real permissions on the league's own page, so a treasurer who shapes the rules and a commissioner who runs the season each work the part that is theirs.
