One afternoon in Clairemont
The league dates itself to a single event: a tryout at Clairemont High School in the fall of 1986, which produced six teams ready to play. Everything since -- 150 teams, 2,000 players, divisions from eighteen to men in their seventies -- grew out of that afternoon.
The league keeps a Hall of Champions in its navigation, so the winners of forty years of seasons are recorded somewhere.
What is not published is any of it in readable form: no founding names, no early clubs, no list of champions on the open web.
Seasons kept on a High Cheese league page accumulate at the league's own address, each with its bracket, its final and its winning roster, so a fortieth anniversary can point at forty years of champions rather than at the tryout that started it.
