Maine Woods Baseball

Maine Woods Baseball Rules

Solid wood, single-unit, non-hollow — with AXE and BAUM bats named as approved.

The bat rule, written by people who have argued about bats

The regulations are exact. All bats must be solid wood, single-unit construction, and cannot be hollow. Composite bats with wood barrels and handles of a different composition or reinforced carbon fibre polymers are prohibited. Laminated wood and AXE bats are approved provided they meet the hundred percent wood and non-hollow specification. BAUM bats are approved. And a bat challenged during a game is removed from play until the Rules Committee determines whether it complies.

Naming two specific manufacturers as approved, and providing a procedure for a bat somebody objects to mid-game, is what a 45-and-over wood bat league writes after the third time it happened. Amendments must be submitted by email before February 15 for committee review, then voted on by the managers of the affected division, with the committee chair breaking ties. High Cheese keeps a league's rules beside its schedule and against its rosters, so a bat standard this specific is readable by the man about to buy one.
