Five of five, plus the one that catches people out
Who can play: men 45 and over in MW45, 55 and over in MW60. When: late April or early May to late August, mostly Sundays at 9am, noon or 3pm, seven innings, with occasional Saturdays and midweek makeups at 6pm. Where: mostly Kelley Field in Bath, with Brunswick, Colby, Portland and two trips a year to The Ballpark at Old Orchard Beach. What it costs: $250, $190, or $300 for both, with jerseys and a hat supplied. How to join: attend the April workouts and enter the draft, with no guaranteed spot.
And the one nobody expects: players are not required to play every game, but must attend fifty percent of scheduled games to qualify for the playoffs. A claimed league on High Cheese answers all five beside a live schedule and knows from the record who has his fifty percent, so a playoff eligibility rule checks itself in August.
