NYC Metro Baseball League

New York City Metro Baseball League Rules

The NABA rulebook, a league rules-and-regulations document, and a form for proposing changes.

Rules you can argue with

The league plays to the NABA rulebook, publishes its own rules and regulations alongside it, and -- the part worth noticing -- carries a rules proposal form. A player who thinks something is wrong has a route to say so rather than a comment section.

Its five divisions from Sandlot up to AA exist to sort experience level, and the league says placement guidance sits with each division's own page. Its national body classifies the same way, with an advanced tier for men with college or professional experience, an intermediate tier for high school players, and a recreational tier described as being for players whose love of the game exceeds their level of experience.

Rules only work when everyone reads the same copy. A High Cheese league page carries the current rulebook at the league's own address, so a manager arguing on a Sunday morning is arguing from the version the board actually passed.
