Three doors, and none of them wants your money yet
The league sets out exactly three ways in. If you already know you want to play, fill in the summer registration form -- and the league states plainly that payment of the fee is not required at the time of registering, and that a new player without a team will be contacted quickly. If you have questions first, use the interested player form, which does not sign you up and simply passes your details to somebody who will call. And if you want to start a whole team, submit either form and mention it when the league representative gets in touch.
The fee is $240 in both the 18+ and the 27+ division. A draft workout for new players is held each March, and anyone joining after the draft goes onto a waiting list until a roster spot opens. Players may register at any time and join even after the season has started; entire teams may only join before it begins. Managers must be at least 21.
That is a well-designed front door with a waiting list behind it, run entirely through a rented forms tool. A High Cheese join page takes the registration and the fee at the league's own address and keeps the waiting list as a free agent pool managers can actually see, which is the part a March draft cannot solve in July.
