One date that matters, and it is in March
The season for both divisions begins in late April or early May and runs to the end of August. The date that actually decides a player's year is earlier: the draft workout for new players, held each March, after which anyone joining goes onto a waiting list.
The league says details of each year's workout are released once finalised, which means the single most important date on its calendar is announced late every year.
A season entered once on a High Cheese league page puts the workout, the opening day and the registration window into every player's own calendar, so the March date reaches people in February.
