Mature attitudes must prevail
The MABL was formed in 2009 to provide competitive recreational baseball emphasising fun, enjoyment, camaraderie and sportsmanship. Its governing sentence is worth quoting: mature attitudes must prevail regardless of the competitive nature of the league, and the responsibility for keeping that premise is equally borne by the commissioner, team managers, players, umpires and fans. It is open to players 21 and over, is in its 34th season, and has grown to seven teams and over 120 active players.
Naming the fans as equally responsible for how the league behaves is a line nobody else in this directory has written. And behind it sits a public record no other league here comes close to — thirty-five selectable seasons of standings, career leaderboards with qualifying minimums, dated hitting streaks, and a written history year by year. High Cheese gives a league one address it owns carrying exactly that, so a record this good is not resting on one WordPress installation.
