Two seasons a year, since 2010
The published calendar is structural rather than dated: a spring season and a summer season each year, both with their own standings, awards and championship, plus a Kona Tournament recorded as its own competition. The first ever season ran from July 19 to August 16, 2009.
Its history explains what those trips mean — fifteen men renting a house on the Big Island, five games against two clubs, thoroughly over-matched, and a barbecue afterwards that the league still describes as showing the vibe it has kept ever since. A High Cheese calendar carries both seasons and any off-island tournament on one subscription, so a trip is on the same page as the schedule.
