Four offices with real powers
The rulebook gives each office specific work. The President sets payment dates, approves player movement between clubs, and takes the two-hour rain call. The Board of Directors maintains the eligibility roster through the season, approves every late roster addition, and rules on any suspension of a season or longer. The League Office receives the fees and the final electronic roster. The Field and Umpire Director handles crews and rescheduled fixtures. Where the President is himself a manager involved in a trade, another Board member stands in his place.
Writing a conflict-of-interest rule for a league where the president also runs a team is the sort of thing only an organization that has been going since 1988 thinks to do. Nobody currently holding any of those posts is named. High Cheese lets a league name its officers and hand out real permissions, so a board that maintains an eligibility roster maintains it on the page.
Jacksonville MABL in detail
- Competitive, wood bat, MSBL/MABL affiliate, since 1988 — and governed in extraordinary detail.
- A Games for Today block with no games in it.
- A Current Standings panel on the front page, showing a top five of nobody.
- Two weeks to make up a rainout, and a forfeit for whichever club cannot.
- Sixteen to start, final by June 1, and playing an ineligible man costs a manager his season.
- A Clubhouse and a Current Players section, with nothing published in either.
- A registration form, and no email address, telephone number or name anywhere.
- A spring draft at Marietta Bulls Bay Park, and $50 that you must not claim back.
- Seven Duval County parks with street addresses, and one flagged limited use.
- Fourteen sections: run rules, A/B slots, borrowed players, and no white sleeves for pitchers.
- Three articles, all posted the same day, none of them about this league.
- A 2025 Season Teams block and three testimonials — and no photograph.
- Nobody is thanked in public.
- Six league games to be eligible, MABL events at 18-27 and MSBL at 28 and over.
- Since 1988 on the badge, and a History page carrying the national body's boilerplate.
- Who and where are answered exhaustively. When and how much are not.
- A fourteen-section rulebook, online waivers, and two borrowed codes.
- A March draft, a Jamboree, fees due June 1, and rosters locked the same day.
- The Hops Store, selling team clothing online.
- One umpire and the game is played; none and it is cancelled — and the Board backs them.
