Three deadlines that run the year
The league's administrative calendar is set out in its rules. A deposit must be paid before a club may pick in the New Player Draft, held on a Sunday in March. The initial team fee is due by the Jamboree. The final team fee, the electronic final roster and the last day for a player to switch clubs all fall on June 1. Any club more than a week in arrears has no further games scheduled.
Putting the money deadline, the roster lock and the transfer deadline on the same date is a sensible simplification, and the Jamboree in between is the only preseason event the league names. No season start or finish date is published. A High Cheese calendar carries the playing year and the administrative one together and subscribes to a player's phone.
Jacksonville MABL in detail
- Competitive, wood bat, MSBL/MABL affiliate, since 1988 — and governed in extraordinary detail.
- A Games for Today block with no games in it.
- A Current Standings panel on the front page, showing a top five of nobody.
- Two weeks to make up a rainout, and a forfeit for whichever club cannot.
- Sixteen to start, final by June 1, and playing an ineligible man costs a manager his season.
- A Clubhouse and a Current Players section, with nothing published in either.
- A registration form, and no email address, telephone number or name anywhere.
- A spring draft at Marietta Bulls Bay Park, and $50 that you must not claim back.
- Seven Duval County parks with street addresses, and one flagged limited use.
- Fourteen sections: run rules, A/B slots, borrowed players, and no white sleeves for pitchers.
- Three articles, all posted the same day, none of them about this league.
- A 2025 Season Teams block and three testimonials — and no photograph.
- Nobody is thanked in public.
- Six league games to be eligible, MABL events at 18-27 and MSBL at 28 and over.
- Since 1988 on the badge, and a History page carrying the national body's boilerplate.
- A President, a Board of Directors, a League Office and a Field and Umpire Director.
- Who and where are answered exhaustively. When and how much are not.
- A fourteen-section rulebook, online waivers, and two borrowed codes.
- The Hops Store, selling team clothing online.
- One umpire and the game is played; none and it is cancelled — and the Board backs them.
