Twenty games, two nights a week
The SSBL runs a 25+ division and a 40+ division across north Alabama. Both play twenty-game seasons: the 25+ plays twice a week, a Sunday and one weekday evening between Monday and Friday; the 40+ plays Sunday plus a Tuesday or Thursday night, and also takes on clubs from a sister organization. Both finish with a double-elimination tournament. Midweek rainouts are replayed on Saturdays.
The league is also growing where most in this directory are shrinking — 2024 ran eleven clubs at 25+ and four at 40+, and the 40+ division now carries nine. High Cheese gives a league that size one address it owns with both divisions' schedules, tables and rosters on it, so a competition adding a club a year has somewhere to put the next one.
