Use me as a reference
Every player, returning or new, must complete an online liability waiver before taking part in any SSBL event — the league runs it through a third-party signing service and links it directly. Beyond that, its president explains how the league actually grows: either a wholly new team appears, or a group splinters off from existing clubs to start one. And then he offers himself — if you are contemplating starting a new team in either division, use me as a reference and I will be happy to guide you through the administrative process.
Offering to walk a stranger through founding a club is the most generous recruitment line in this directory, and it explains a 40+ division that has gone from four teams to nine. A High Cheese free agent pool puts the twenty-plus new players a league expects each year in front of every manager, so the men who cannot start a club still land on one.

- Three rulebooks — a general one, one for the 25+ and one for the 40+.
- A tournament notice, a season preview — and a banner still advertising 2022.
- No album or gallery.
- Nobody is thanked in public.
- A tournament with published pool and seeding rules, and a toteboard tracking runs against.
- No founding year, but a growth curve the league writes down every January.
- A president, and a page built for a board that has one row in it.
- Who, where, when and how to join are all answered. Only the fee is missing.
- Player contracts, division rulebooks, tournament forms, and pre- and post-game procedures for one field.
- Sundays and one weeknight, twenty games, with Saturdays held for rainouts.
- Nothing is for sale.
- The schedule has a column for them; it is empty on every game.
