Score, record and story on one line
The results are published as part of the recap, with each club's record printed beside its name: Ducks 11 Suckers 5 with the Ducks at 5-2, Showmen 3 Mavs 1 in Baseball Night in the Ozarks, Suckers 5 Locos 0 in the Eliminator, Mavs 2 Ducks 1 in the championship. A rained-off game between the Suckers and the Mets is recorded as cancelled rather than dropped.
Carrying the standing beside the score is exactly right and it means every number has to be typed twice. On High Cheese a final entered once becomes the box score, the standings line, the player's statistics and the season record together, so the recap can quote a record that updates itself.
