The game doesn't stop just because you get older
WVMBL was founded in 2004 and runs 35-and-over and 50-and-over divisions in wood bats, in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Its masthead is four words: don't go soft, play hardball.
Its own statement of purpose is better than most: the league provides a high-quality baseball experience for men over 35, and we believe that the game doesn't stop just because you get older. Whether you played in college, the pros, or just back in high school, there's a spot for you on the diamond.
The format is published plainly. Two age divisions for fair and balanced matchups. Wood or composite wood bats only -- experience the crack of the bat, pure baseball. A ten-game regular season starting in June followed by single-elimination playoffs. Annual trophies and awards for league leaders and champions.
And one detail that shapes everything: it plays on quality fields under the lights on weeknights.
A High Cheese league page keeps the schedule, the standings and every roster at an address the league owns, so a league twenty-two years old has a record to match its statement of intent.
