Answered properly, all of it
When are games played? Saturdays for the 50+, 60+ and 68+ divisions, with some weekday games possible in the 68+, and Sundays for the 18+ and 40+. Start times are usually half past nine and half past one; where three games share a field it becomes half past eight, noon and half past three. Every game has a three-hour limit.
Where? Generally Livermore, Dublin, San Leandro, Martinez, Benicia, El Cerrito and Pittsburg -- and the league adds that it is always looking for new fields to rent.
How much? Fees are paid by team, so the cost per player depends on roster size, but on average each player pays about $250 to $300 for a sixteen-game regular season plus playoffs, with a uniform costing around $100 on top.
Metal bats? No. The whole league is wood, or wood-composite: the handle may be metal or metal composite but the barrel must not be. The league supplies no bats, and gives a word of advice worth quoting -- wood breaks, so do not borrow or loan a bat or a piece of equipment unless you can afford to replace it or accept the loss.
Forms? Yes, and no exceptions: you cannot play without completing a waiver and paying your fees, and your manager sends the e-waiver from the league's site.
Am I guaranteed playing time? No. The league does not dictate how managers allocate it beyond playoff eligibility, and recommends new players and teams state their expectations to each other to prevent misunderstandings.
That last answer is the honest one almost nobody gives. A High Cheese league page puts the fee, the fields and the join route on the same page as the schedule -- which is where a man reading this FAQ decides.
