Filled in, then drafted
The route in is the New Player Interest Form, and the league commits to a timescale: a representative contacts every applicant within two to three business days, and if nobody does, you are told to chase the President, the Secretary or your prospective commissioner.
From there you enter the free agent draft pool and are invited to a new player workout to meet players, managers and league representatives before being placed. Teams with open roster spots or particular positional needs get preference in drafting, explicitly to keep the league fair and competitive.
Fees are $150 to $250 for the spring and $100 to $150 for the fall, with discounts for players in multiple divisions or joining mid-season, and no refunds once paid. Teams begin forming in January.
The league also registers separately for its fall and spring seasons and keeps division pages for the Major and Senior leagues.
A join page that takes the interest form, states the fee and feeds the draft pool is what a High Cheese league page does at the league's own address -- and the two-to-three-day promise becomes a record rather than a hope.
