Advertised on the front page, with the rate
The league states its standard in the same breath as its bats: wood bats, two umpires, and nine innings all summer. It publishes what it pays — two umpires per game at $100 per umpire, per game — and asks openly on its front page and its FAQ for qualified officials to get in touch.
Publishing the rate and recruiting in public is the only way a first-year league in a valley finds crews, and paying two men $200 a game for a four-team league is a real commitment out of $35 appearance fees. Nobody else in this directory advertises for umpires alongside players. On High Cheese the crew attaches to the fixture, so an official recruited off the front page sees his assignments where the clubs see theirs.
