Nine innings, and a clock that respects them
The 18+ division plays a twelve-game season plus playoffs on Saturdays or Sundays. Games are nine innings with no new inning starting after two hours forty, and no doubleheaders are scheduled. Equipment is specified exactly: a fielding glove, a wood or composite-wood bat at maximum minus three, a batting helmet, and a full team-matching uniform of hat, jersey and pants. Metal or plastic cleats both work, and teams may share equipment such as catcher's gear. The league provides and maintains the game balls.
Scheduling nine innings rather than seven, and refusing doubleheaders, is a statement about what kind of baseball this is — the league also publishes a separate Manager Policies document. High Cheese keeps a league's rules beside its schedule and against its rosters, so a bat standard and a curfew are readable by the drop-in player arriving for his first game.
