The league runs a standing notice to managers: it is the winning team's responsibility to report the game score on the website, and to do so immediately after the game.
Putting the duty on the winner is the version of that rule most likely to be obeyed, and across four divisions playing two games a week it means somewhere near forty results a week depend on forty men remembering on the drive home. On High Cheese a final entered once becomes the box score, the standings line and the season record together, so one entry does the work of the notice — and a missing result is visible rather than silently absent.
