Seven ways a game can end
The results page carries finals — Panthers 12 Black Sox 4, KC Monarchs 10 Mavericks 1 and Mavericks 7 Monarchs 6 in a Sunday doubleheader split, KC Athletics 11 Expos 0 — and a legend of seven statuses: final, to be played, cancelled, postponed, suspended, forfeit by home team and forfeit by visiting team.
Distinguishing a home forfeit from a visiting one matters when the visiting club has driven from Liberty to Parkville, and it is the sort of bookkeeping that only exists because somebody was once out of pocket. On High Cheese a final entered once becomes the box score, the standings line and the season record together, with forfeits and suspensions kept distinct rather than folded into a result.
