Kansas City Amateur Baseball Association Rules

Wood bat, two-hour limits, and a run rule that changes with the format.

Two formats, two run rules

The league plays either seven-inning doubleheaders or a single nine-inning game, all wood bat. The run rule follows the format: ten runs after seven innings in a nine-inning game, ten after five in a seven-inning doubleheader. Every game carries a two-hour time limit. Nine-inning games start at 11am, 2pm, 5pm or 8pm; seven-inning games at 11am and 1:30, 4:00 and 6:30, or 8:45.

Stacking five start times on a single field is how a league fits three divisions into two days a week, and the two-hour clock is what makes the 8:45 game possible at all. High Cheese keeps a league's rules beside its schedule and computes the result from the game, so a run-ruled fifth inning is recorded the way the format intends.
