Run from a meeting rather than an org chart
Nobody is named as president, commissioner or officer. What the league has instead is a standing Tuesday meeting where rosters are handed in, baseballs are distributed and decisions get made, and bylaws that presumably say who runs it.
The writing on the site is plainly one person's, down to the Donkey Kong line, and that person is not named anywhere.
High Cheese lets a league name its officers and hand out real permissions, so thirty clubs are not dependent on one inbox and one Tuesday.
Aztec Baseball League in detail
- Thirty clubs in the Inland Empire, a twelve game season, and a league that publishes what it costs.
- Twelve games a club, and no fixture list, because the permits are not back.
- No table is published, though results and champions are.
- A full weekend published, including a 28-1 and four games that never got played.
- Eighteen players and one manager, verified against a photo ID, with a player ID number each.
- No batting or pitching figures, but every player has an ID number.
- One address, [email protected], and a Tuesday meeting anyone can attend.
- $1,500 a team, at least $750 before the first game, all of it before game five.
- The league keeps a fields page and is waiting on permits to be approved.
- A complete uniform, defined item by item, and a game that cannot be played without eighteen of them.
- Meeting notes, rule changes, weekend highlights and a championship photo.
- Player Pics is a searchable index, and there is a championship home run in it, slightly blurred.
- A sponsor letter is published for clubs to use.
- A championship series, and three champions crowned: Yaquis, Rangers and Cerveseros.
- A Previous Seasons section, a Previous Games archive, and champions named this year.
- This league answers four of the five questions outright, which nothing else here does.
- League bylaws, a protest form, a minor release and a sponsor letter, all published.
- Twelve games, finishing before Thanksgiving, with Labor Day the only holiday off.
- No store, and a uniform rule that obliges every club to buy properly.
- No crew is named, and a protest form exists for when a call is disputed.
