Rieleros, Cerveseros, Peloteros, Chapulines
A single weekend's results name thirty clubs: Rieleros de AG, Bandits, Cerveseros, Colt 45's, Los Diablos, Peloteros, Rancheros, Jurupa Expos, RC Indians, Teocal, IE Marlins, Bench Bros, Rangers, Jaxx, Perros, Tomahawks, SC Trojans, Ganaderos, Bean Boys, Calif Rockies, Diamondbacks, Naturals, Chapulines, Tigeres, Motorboaters, Warriors, Spitfires, KC Royals, Storm and Charros. The Yaquis and the Grays appear in the championship series.
The season is twelve games, aimed to finish before Thanksgiving, with Labor Day the only scheduled holiday weekend. Business is done at league meetings on Tuesdays, where teams hand in rosters and paid clubs are given a dozen baseballs.
This league tells a stranger more in one page than most tell in a season: the fee, the roster cap, the uniform standard, the meeting dates. High Cheese exists to make that openness the default rather than the work of one person keeping a page current.
