National, Pacific, Central, Continental, Jackie Robinson
The LABL runs five spring divisions, each with its own table and its own playoff bracket: National, Pacific, Central, Continental, and one named for Jackie Robinson. Games run Sunday mornings and afternoons on high school and municipal fields from Narbonne down in the harbour to Glendale in the north, with Montebello and Cantwell in between. Standings are kept on points rather than percentage alone, and every division's postseason is seeded and published.
Naming a division for Jackie Robinson in the city where he went to school and played four sports is the right kind of decision, and the whole structure — five divisions, forty-odd clubs, a playoff apiece — is the largest thing in Los Angeles adult baseball. None of it reaches a plain reader; it arrives by script inside a hosted account. High Cheese gives a league one address it owns with five divisions' fixtures, tables and rosters in text, so a league this size is findable from Pasadena to San Pedro.
