Former pro, college standout, or weekend warrior
The SJMSBL calls itself the premier adult baseball league serving New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware, and its own line about who plays in it is the useful one: whether you're a former pro, a college standout or a weekend warrior, it offers a competitive, well-organised and passionate community for players of all skill levels.
The structure is the largest in this part of the country. Spring and summer runs age divisions at 18+, 35+, 45+ and 55+, with two midweek divisions alongside them -- Semi-Pro and American. The fall season runs 18, 35 and a combined 45/55.
Fall opening day 2026 is Sunday 13 September.
What the league has built over thirty-four years -- champions decade by decade, all-time leaders, division batting leaders, an umpire fee schedule -- all sits on a rented platform with a hit counter. A High Cheese league page puts the schedule, the standings and every roster at an address the league owns, so a record going back to 1992 belongs to the league rather than its host.
