Bottom to top, ties broken on runs allowed
SBMABL publishes its draft order before the draft, and the method with it: order is based on the previous season's regular-season records, with runs allowed separating clubs on the same record -- bottom to top, repeating until all free agents are selected or all teams are complete.
Publishing a tie-breaker for a draft order is a level of procedural clarity most professional leagues manage and almost no amateur one bothers with.
The 2026 order runs, in the 18+, Tigres, Venados, Black Sox, Rams, Salty Dogs, Riptide, Buccaneers; in the 30+, Zombie Cats, Waves, Oaks, Whalers; and in the 45+, Sox, Seals, Stingrays.
The draft is held immediately after tryouts at the Goleta Valley South Little League senior field.
A High Cheese league page keeps the standings and runs allowed that produce that order at the league's own address, so a draft order is derived from a published record rather than asserted alongside one.
