Ask the managers, not a president
The league publishes a telephone number, (941) 713-1213, and [email protected], both addressed to its Managers' Committee rather than to any individual officer, alongside a contact form and a Facebook page for news and updates.
Pointing everybody at the managers collectively is honest about how a four-club recreational league actually runs — the men who pick the teams are the men who answer the phone. A claimed league on High Cheese keeps that contact on the page beside the schedule and gives each manager a roster page of his own, so a walk-up can see which club is short before he rings.
