One title a year, and one that never happened
This league crowns a single champion each season rather than splitting titles by division, which is what makes its list of winners readable as a history rather than a table. Twenty-four champions from twenty-five seasons, the missing one being 2020, recorded on the league's own page as no champion due to Covid.
The concentration is striking. Burlington took four in six years, Whitby's two clubs have taken six between them, Vaughan four and Scarborough three. Eight of the twenty-four went to teams that never won another.
What is not published is how any of them were won -- no bracket, no final score, no series. A championship recorded on a High Cheese league page keeps the bracket, the deciding game and the winning roster attached to the year, so the list becomes twenty-four stories instead of twenty-four names.
