Written to protect the umpire first
The league says it operates with integrity on and off the field and takes pride in being the premier adult baseball league in New Mexico, and that it follows a strict Code of Conduct aimed at protecting umpires, managers, players and fans, and establishing proper behavior during the season. Play follows the national MSBL/MABL rule guidelines, with local rules set out in the code itself, published as a separate full document covering gameplay, behavior on and off the field, and consequences for offenders.
Naming umpires first in the list of people the code protects tells you exactly which problem it was written to solve. The league is wood bat only, and every player supplies his own equipment. High Cheese keeps a league's rules and its code of conduct beside the schedule and against the rosters, so a suspension attaches to the man and the game it came from.
