Long Island MSBL/MABL Umpires

$270 a game if you forfeit, and two forfeits means expulsion.

Priced, and the bill lands on the club

The league's forfeit rule is exact: two forfeits and a team is expelled, and any club that forfeits must pay the full umpire cost of $270 by its next scheduled game or forfeit that one too. The home plate umpire is also the man who verifies lineup cards carry full names and numbers, and who removes a player who cannot produce ID.

Publishing what a crew costs, and making the club that wasted them pay it, is the only version of that rule that actually works. No assignor or individual official is named. On High Cheese the crew attaches to the fixture, so who worked a game and what it cost sit in the same record as the result.
